Daddy v. Mommy

This is Courtney when her mom dresses her. Notice she matches and her clothes are according to the season/weather.

This morning I said to Clay, "Why don't you get Courtney dressed for the day." Clay obliged and took Courtney to her room and got her dressed. This is what happens when Daddy gets her dressed:

Now I realize none of you can see the fabric of the jumper. Let me point out that it's corduroy. It's July. It's 100 degrees outside. Not kind of fabric to be wearing. And pants? I'll admit it was my fault for having them on the hanger with the jumper. But still. Clay and I had a good laugh about it and then he took her back and changed into something more fitting for this very hot day.

And that's the difference between Daddy v. Mommy getting the little ladybug dressed!

FINALLY!

It's taken 5 months but Courtney is finally starting to enjoy bathtime. She now enjoys playing with all of her ducky's and splashing around a little bit.

Courtney and Her Good Friend, Fredbird

Courtney has made a new friend in the house - Fredbird. I have a Build-A-Bear version of him that we got at Busch Stadium two summers ago. I only handed him to her as a distraction while I looked for something, and when I looked up it was like long lost pals!

I love how she's holding his hand in this next one.

I think Courtney has a new best friend in the house!

A Giggly Little Girl!

Well, we finally caught Courtney in the act...we finally got a video clip of her giggling. Don't ask us why she found this so funny, but hey...we'll take what we can get!

Courtney's Famous!

Well, not really. But she made the display at the studio we have her portraits taken. Which to us makes her famous! Our nephews happened to notice it the other day when they walked past the window on their way to karate. So today after church we went over there to see it with our own eyes.

Here's picture number one. This was one of her 3 month pictures. It's the picture in the lower lefthand corner in case you can't find her.

Here's picture number two. This one is with her cousin, Kelsi, when we had their Easter portraits taken. Courtney was one and a half old and Kelsi was almost 4 months old. The photographers assistant kept saying this was one of her favorites...she wasn't kidding! This picture is on the bottom with both of them wearing bonnets. Courtney is on the left and Kelsi is on the right.

Courtney enjoyed looking at herself on display!

She was so flattered that when we got home she let us take her picture out in the backyard. The blanket she's sitting on is a blanket my godmother gave as a gift when I was born. My mom has kept it all these years and gave it to me just before Courtney was born.

Breakfast with the Baysingers

Last week we met up with my best friend, Meredith, and her little boy, Trey. Meredith's mom, Debbie, surprised us by showing up too. Meredith moved to Olean, New York in June and comes home every 6 weeks. Needless to say, we were excited to see her!

Here's a group photo of all of us. Notice how Courtney is "making eyes" at Trey. She seemed to only have eyes for him that morning!

Honestly though, who can blame Courtney for flirting? He's just so darn cute!!

The next time we see Mr. Trey he will be turning 1 years old! Seems like only yesterday I was in the delivery room with Meredith videotaping her ramblings due to some strong drugs!

Courtney is 5 Months Old!

Hard to imagine, but it's true. Right now she's showing signs that teeth are coming. I've been popping teething tablets in her mouth like crazy. Yes, my daughter is a pill popper! She still won't roll over from her back to her stomach, but can from her stomach to her back. She's sitting up a little better everyday. Now if we can just work on her crying fits and getting up once in the middle of the night! She was sleeping through the night, but we've regressed back this past month. It's not fun for Mom and Dad!

Here's our little ladybug!

It's hard to believe that she's as big as Mr. Ted E. Bear. It's was hard getting a picture of her without her wanting to pull him to her mouth and drool on him. Next month should be really interesting!

Sweet as a Strawberry

I know, I know....more pictures? How could you possibly take more pictures? Well, who can blame me when Courtney looked so cute in her new outift!

Is it just me or does Courtney look as if she's thinking, "Damn, I look good!"

And just think...there's a whole lot more pictures to come with all the cute little outfits hanging up in her closet!

Swimming with Aunt T

Courtney got in the pool for the first time last week with her Aunt T (aka Former Lifeguard). It was a little chilly, but she got used to it after awhile.

Daddy and Courtney checking out the pool before diving in.

Courtney getting into her ladybug floatie. Notice the look on her face...it was chilly!

Courtney can't wait till next time!

Courtney's Visit to OSU!

Following our fun 4th, we loaded up the car and headed to Stillwater, OK. Home to Oklahoma State and the world famous Eskimo Joe's. Courtney got her first taste of what life was like when her mom went to school and hung out at Joe's WAY too much!

Courtney enjoying her first smell of the cheese fries!! For some reason the baby food wasn't cutting it once she smelled them!

Morgan and Adriane posing for the camera.

Our family picture under the Joe's sign.

After lunch, we took a stroll through campus. We headed over to Theta Pond so the girls could see the ducks and sit in some shade. It was a little warmish. Morgan kept reminding us how hot it was as we were walking! : )

A future so bright at OSU that she's gotta wear shades!

Stillwater was so much fun and we can't wait for football season and taking Courtney to her first OSU Homecoming!

4th of July Fun!

We went to Cleveland, OK to spend Courtney's first 4th of July with our friend's, the White's. We had a fun time seeing our friends and celebrating.

Feliz Quatro de Julio! Amanda and me enjoying some "Fat Mama's Gonna Get You Naked" margaritas. Seriously...that's the name of the mix!
Can't wait till next year!!

Another Playdate!

Last Thursday Courtney and I met up with two teachers I work with and their little girls. Melissa and I both teach fourth grade and we were due within a week of one another. However, Katie Beth was born one day after Courtney. Ginger teaches third grade and she had baby Zoe on May 12th. Zoe mainly slept, but we enjoyed oohing and ahhing over her!

Here are some pics of our fun afternoon!

The girls hanging out on the floor. They both had fun just looking at each other and smiling. Courtney even made her first giggle!

There's No Place Like Home...with Air Conditioning

I bet you're wondering what happened to the blogging? Well, it's been a CRAZY week and a half for us. The Saturday after we returned from Austin our A/C went out in the house. I noticed it was warm in the house before I left to take my last certification test for school. When I got in my car after the test, Clay called to let me know we have no air. Great.

So off we went to Chez Farmer (aka my folk's house) to stay until it got fixed. Silly us thought it would be fixed in early in the week. WRONG! The home warranty company didn't seem to care that it's June, it's 90+ degrees outside (and inside for that matter) and we have a baby. Long story short, we got it fixed today. We're so excited to be home!

To top off the no A/C, Clay got his car broken into so we had to buy a new driver's side window. Then we got a notice that Courtney's crib has been recalled. So now we have to take back the crib and find a new one.

Luckily, Courtney was a good baby. Don't get me wrong, she still pulled her little drama-mama tantrums, but we're dealing with it.

Here are some pics of our stay at Chez Farmer:

Not much to say about this pic. I just thought it was cute!

Doing some her "Happy Baby" yoga pose. Her Aunt T is so proud!

Hanging out in the backyard while her mom and Nana cleaned the pool. She loves to sit up in her stroller like a big girl!

Courtney also loves to wear her toys like bracelets. She comes by it naturally since her mom loves jewelry!

She and Kelsi enjoyed some playtime as well. They are both doing really good at sitting up on their own without help. YEAH!

I took more pictures of our time over there and hopefully will get them on here before we go out of town. You heard right- we get home just to leave again. We're going to celebrate the 4th of the July Cleveland, Oklahoma style with our friend's, the White's!
